Michiyama’s House
This is a house with a store on a triangular site. The corner lot faces two roads, one 30 m wide and the other 4 m wide, which are the extremes of the two roads, and it was difficult to maintain privacy.

The plan of the house is tilted at an angle to the road to catch the surrounding eye, and the overall image of the house is one of large and small roofs dispersed in a flurry. The exterior, with its multiple roofs that change in appearance depending on where you look, makes it difficult to imagine the interior.
The dynamic change in the eaves of the roof is intended to be familiar to passersby and children as well as to protect the family’s lifestyle. The interior of the house and the courtyard also use the same wood, plaster, and mortar used for the exterior walls, and these are the base colors of the house.

Colour Codes
The living room has a bright reddish color to harmonize with the wood, and the water area is painted and tiled in blue to give a fresh impression in combination with the brown wood. For each private room, we interviewed the client about their preferred colors, and the colors were chosen. The exterior walls are painted a dark earthy color and wood shingles to blend in with the plants, and the roof is green.
On the first floor, the entrance is blue-green, the Japanese-style room is red-purple, the kitchen is light blue, and the bathroom is pink. The wall at the end of the stairway to the second floor is a wall that looks like a pasted picture of Japanese paper in various colors.
