Organizer:

The organizer of the event is Nippon Paint Holdings Singapore Pte. Ltd. ("Organizer") of 1 Kim Seng Promenade #10-04/05/06 Great World City East Tower, Singapore 237994.

Competition period:

The event shall commence on 16 November, 2023 and close on April 12, 2024.

Entry Requirement

  1. Any individual or company may enter (“Entrant”), including Property/ Space Owners, Developers, Architects, Interior Architects, Interior Designers, Interior Decorators, Specifiers and Colour Consultants, provided that in each case (with the exception of Property/Space Owners) the Entrant can provide evidence that they were officially appointed in their professional capacity to the project in question.
  2. Projects which are completed between 1 January 2021 to 29 February 2024 are eligible.
  3. Nippon Paint Colours and Paint must have been used extensively within the project and must not have been gifted by Nippon Paint. Participating/ affiliated brands of Nippon Paint include Filli Boya and Fawori are eligible.
  4. Entrants must obtain and submit written consent from space or property owners (where applicable) to enter the project.
  5. Completed projects are required to be physically located in Bangladesh, China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam and Turkey to be eligible for entry.
  6. The Organizer is responsible for determining whether the individual or company as the case may be is an eligible entrant in its absolute discretion.

Entry restrictions

Employees (and their Immediate Families) employed by the Organizer, or any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries or affiliated companies, or any agencies associated with this event are ineligible to enter.

  1. “Employees” means any directors, management, employees, concessionaires, consultants, officers and contractors or other such people who perform work under the control of another in exchange for payment.
  2. “Immediate Family(ies)” means any of the following: spouse, parents and children.

How to Enter

Entry to the Creative Colour Awards is free.

Completed projects can be submitted into the Award Categories as follows:

Architectural category focuses on the external facade of spaces.

  • Architectural | Corporate & Commercial Exterior
    The exterior paint finishes of any commercial, industrial and hospitality buildings such as offices, studios, factories & warehouses, retail outlets, shopping centres, education facilities, healthcare facilities, cafes, restaurants, fitness centres, hotels and accommodation.
  • Architectural | Residential Exterior
    The exterior paint finishes of any property or building used as a private residence including single and multi-residential.

Interior design category focuses on the internal facade of spaces.

  • Interior Design | Corporate & Commercial Interior
    The interior paint finishes of any commercial, industrial and hospitality spaces such as offices, studios, factories & warehouses, retail outlets, pop up retail, shopping centres, education facilities, healthcare facilities, cafes, restaurants, fitness centres, hotels and accommodation.
  • Interior Design | Residential Interior
    The interior paint finishes of any space used as a private residence including single and multi-residential.

Public Spaces
The exterior and/or interior paint finishes of any public spaces and infrastructures such as community centres, transport infrastructures (airports, railway & bus stations, bridges, tunnels, pavements, etc.), museums, one-off installations, event spaces, sports and recreational facilities.

Entry Details

  1. All entries must obtain written consent of the property/ space owner and/or designer/ agency. You can download the consent form here.
  2. Entries that do not conform to these Terms and Conditions will not be accepted.
  3. Entrants can submit more than one project. [However, each project or property can only be submitted once to the competition. If multiple entries are received for the same property, the first valid entry will be accepted and the subsequent entries will be excluded.]
  4. All entries must adhere to the guidelines and specifications listed in the Entry Form: https://creativecolourawards.awardsplatform.com
  5. The Organizer has sole discretion to accept or reject an entry.
  6. Entries will be individually moderated by representatives of the event to ensure content posted is not illegal, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing of intellectual property rights, indecent, libellous, hateful, obscene, or otherwise injurious to third parties or objectionable. Such entries that contain content that the Organizer considers, in its sole discretion, to be offensive or inappropriate in any way, or that the Organizer considers, in its sole discretion, to infringe any intellectual property rights or other rights of any person, property, corporation or entity will not be accepted.
  7. If requested by the Organizer, the Entrant must provide evidence that it had the necessary permissions and consents to enter the project, and that entering the project does not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other rights of any person, property, corporation or entity. If the Entrant fails to establish this to the Organizer’s satisfaction, the Organizer may exclude the entry.
  8. All entries must be submitted by 12 April 2024 [23:59 hrs (UTC+08:00) Singapore]. Late submissions, additions or modifications to entries will not be accepted.
  9. Projects entered will be judged in first round judging based on the images and project description submitted.
  10. Entries received must be the original work of the Entrant. The Organizer reserves the right to verify, or to require the Entrant to verify, that the entry is the Entrant’s original work. If an entry cannot be verified to the Organizer’s satisfaction, the entry will be deemed invalid.

Judging Criteria

Award Notification and Publication Details

  1. The winners will be announced at the Creative Colour Awards 2024 invitation only event in July 2024.
  2. Shortlisted entries will be notified on 1 June 2024 and Entrants must RSVP by 10 June 2024 to be eligible to receive the nomination of Awards. A representative of the Entrant must be present at the [Creative Colour Awards 2024 event in July 2024] to be eligible for nomination.
  3. It is a condition of entry that Category Winners, if required, make themselves available for the award ceremony, interviews and photoshoots for publicity purposes pertaining to the Event.
  4. As a condition of claiming a prize, the Entrant may be required to (at the discretion of the Organizer) sign any legal documentation in the form required by the Organizer and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
  5. Shortlisted entries and winners will be published on https://creativecolourawards.com.

Prize Details

Each category winner shall receive USD $2,500 prize money.

The winner of each category will be judged for the Grand Prix prize.

Grand Prix Winner shall receive USD $5,000 prize money.

Prize money will be awarded via electronic funds transfer or as a cheque.

In the case where the winner is a group, partnership or on behalf of a practice, only one prize will be awarded.

The prize(s) and/or part of the prize(s) is/are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash (unless the prize is cash). If a prize, or an element of a prize, is unavailable for any reason, the Organizer reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute another prize of equal or greater value for that prize, or element of it.

Copyright of Imagery

  1. In respect of all material (‘Material’) submitted to the Creative Colour Awards registered under Nippon Paint Holdings Singapore Pte. Ltd., each Entrant warrants that all Material is the exclusive work of the Entrant and may not include any element that is the copyright of any other party.
  2. The copyright in respect of all Material submitted to the Creative Colour Awards shall remain with the copyright owner, however, the Entrant grants the Organizer a royalty free licence to do (and waives any moral rights it may have in respect of) the following:
    a. retain and use all Material for any purposes relating to the Creative Colour Awards (current or future), including promotional activities (on Nippon Paint and its network of brands’ websites, social media and news platforms and otherwise) and for related PR activities. Nippon Paint may sub-licence this right to a third-party contractor of Nippon Paint, for this limited purpose only;
    b. For the purposes of the activities under paragraph (a), crop images to meet layout and space requirements (but not otherwise modify the Material);
    c. For the purposes of the activities under paragraph (a), reproduce any Material, cause the Material to be seen and/or heard in public, and communicate the Material to the public and/or to be published.
  3. Each Entrant warrants that:
    a. It is entitled to grant the licence referred to above and Organizer’s use of the entry materials will not infringe the rights of any third party nor give rise to any claim by which any of the rights of the Organizer to use the entry could be narrowed;
    b. It has obtained all necessary third-party licences or usage rights for the use of the Material for the Creative Colour Awards and/or made the Organizer aware of the licence life or duration for any third-party material, and that such licence or usage rights allow the Organizer to use the entry Material in accordance with these Terms and Conditions;
    c. It has obtained the written consent of any identifiable person depicted in Material submitted to include their image, and will provide a copy of such consent to the Organizer on request;
    d. It has the power and authority to enter into and to perform its obligations under the terms of this event;
    e. It has been obtained from all authors and holders of any copyright and moral rights (as defined in the Copyright Act 2021 of Singapore) in the entry and the Materials, consent to use the entry and the Materials in accordance with the terms of this Event; and
    f. To the extent that any artwork appears in the photography material submitted, the Entrant has obtained the written consent of the copyright owner in the artwork for that artwork to be included and used in imagery for the promotion of Creative Colour Awards.
  4. Permission will be sought for any usage in addition to the promotion of the Creative Colour Awards event.

General

  1. Information on how to enter the Creative Colour Awards and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in the Creative Colour Awards is deemed as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. All Entrants acknowledge that the Organizer can rely on these Terms and Conditions even if the Organizer only learns of a person’s ineligibility after the Organizer has awarded a prize to the ineligible person. Return of the prize of its equivalent value to the Organizer may be required by the Organizer if this occurs.
  3. Each Entrant is responsible for ensuring his or her familiarity with these Terms and Conditions at the time of participation. The Organizer’s decision not to enforce a specific restriction (whether communicated to an Entrant or not) does not constitute a waiver of that restriction or of these Terms and Conditions generally.
  4. Incomplete and indecipherable entries and any entry which has incorrectly entered personal information or contact details shall be deemed an invalid entry. No responsibility is accepted by the Organizer for late, lost, misdirected, ineligible or illegible/inaudible entries (including lost, stolen, forged, defaced or damaged proof of entry).
  5. An Entrant’s entry must not include any image or voice of any other person without that person’s express consent. Entrants warrant that if any such content is included, they have obtained the express consent of the relevant person, and that this consent allows the Organizer to use the entry in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
  6. The Organizer may, in its absolute discretion, edit, modify, delete, remove or take-down any part of an entrant’s entry.
  7. Entries must be received by the Organizer and will be deemed to have been received at the time of receipt by the Organizer. Online and other electronic entries are deemed to have been received at the time of receipt into the event database and not at the time of transmission by the Entrant.
  8. Each Entrant acknowledges that there may be inherent risks involved in entering this event or taking or participating in the prize(s). Any Entrant, prize winner and/or participants may be required to sign an acknowledgement of risk and waiver of liability for participation in the event and to expressly acknowledge that entry or participation in this event may be inherently dangerous, and that if they choose to participate, they will do so at their own risk.
  9. Any costs associated with accessing the CCA website are the Entrant’s responsibility and are dependent on the internet service provider used. Entrants must submit their entries manually using an internet browser.
  10. The Organizer is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, communication network, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise, injury or damage to entries or to participants’ or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or down-loading any materials in this event. If the event is not capable of being conducted due to circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control, including due to any technical or communications problems, the Organizer reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the competition subject to approval from any relevant authority.
  11. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an Entrant, the Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the Entrant.
  12. The Organizer’s decision in respect of any aspect of these Terms and Conditions and the Creative Colour Awards is final and binding on every Entrant, and not subject to any appeal.
  13. The Organizer, its affiliates and agents are not responsible in any way for the content or descriptions included by Entrants, nor do they necessarily endorse the content or descriptions.
  14. Each Entrant agrees to indemnify the Organizer for all liabilities, including legal costs, in relation to any action or complaint taken by any third party against the Organizer for any infringement of any intellectual property rights of a third party caused by the use of the Entrant’s Materials, or as a result of a breach of any of the Entrant’s warranties set out above.
  15. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Organizer (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Creative Colour Awards, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Organizer’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Organizer) due to any reason beyond the control of the Organizer; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; or (e) use of the prize.
  16. If this event is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Organizer, the Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Creative Colour Awards, as appropriate.
  17. The Organizer collects personal information in order to conduct the Creative Colour Awards and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties as required for the purpose of conducting the Creative Colour Awards and/or provision of the prizes. The Organizer may disclose the information for these purposes to its affiliates and suppliers or contractors. For more information, please refer to the Organizer’s privacy policy found at https://creativecolourawards.com/privacy-policy/.
  18. These Terms and Conditions and any issues, disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with it (whether contractual or non-contractual in nature such as claims in tort, from breach of statute or regulation or otherwise) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
  19. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Creative Colour Awards shall be submitted for mediation at the Singapore Mediation Centre (“SMC“) in accordance with SMC’s Mediation Procedure in force for the time being. Either/any party may submit a request to mediate to SMC upon which the other party will be bound to participate in the mediation within [45 days] thereof. Unless otherwise agreed by the Parties, the mediator(s) will be appointed by the Singapore Mediation Centre. The mediation will take place in Singapore in the English language and the Parties agree to be bound by any settlement agreement reached.
  20. If such dispute cannot be resolved by way of mediation in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, such dispute shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Singapore administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (“SIAC”) in accordance with the arbitration rules of the SIAC for the time being in force, which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference to this clause. The arbitral tribunal shall consist of one (1) arbitrator whom, unless otherwise agreed by the Parties, shall be appointed by the President of the SIAC. The seat of the arbitration shall be Singapore, and the language of arbitration shall be English.

Any Entrant, prize winner and/or participants may be required to sign an acknowledgement of risk and waiver of liability for participation in the event and to expressly acknowledge that entry or participation in this event may be inherently dangerous, and that if they choose to participate, they will do so at their own risk.
  9. Any costs associated with accessing the CCA website are the Entrant’s responsibility and are dependent on the internet service provider used. Entrants must submit their entries manually using an internet browser.
  10. The Organizer is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, communication network, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise, injury or damage to entries or to participants’ or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or down-loading any materials in this event. If the event is not capable of being conducted due to circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control, including due to any technical or communications problems, the Organizer reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the competition subject to approval from any relevant authority.
  11. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an Entrant, the Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the Entrant.
  12. The Organizer’s decision in respect of any aspect of these Terms and Conditions and the Creative Colour Awards is final and binding on every Entrant, and not subject to any appeal.
  13. The Organizer, its affiliates and agents are not responsible in any way for the content or descriptions included by Entrants, nor do they necessarily endorse the content or descriptions.
  14. Each Entrant agrees to indemnify the Organizer for all liabilities, including legal costs, in relation to any action or complaint taken by any third party against the Organizer for any infringement of any intellectual property rights of a third party caused by the use of the Entrant’s Materials, or as a result of a breach of any of the Entrant’s warranties set out above.
  15. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Organizer (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Creative Colour Awards, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Organizer’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Organizer) due to any reason beyond the control of the Organizer; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; or (e) use of the prize.
  16. If this event is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Organizer, the Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Creative Colour Awards, as appropriate.
  17. The Organizer collects personal information in order to conduct the Creative Colour Awards and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties as required for the purpose of conducting the Creative Colour Awards and/or provision of the prizes. The Organizer may disclose the information for these purposes to its affiliates and suppliers or contractors.   18. These Terms and Conditions and any issues, disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with it (whether contractual or non-contractual in nature such as claims in tort, from breach of statute or regulation or otherwise) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
  19. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Creative Colour Awards shall be submitted for mediation at the Singapore Mediation Centre (“SMC“) in accordance with SMC’s Mediation Procedure in force for the time being. Either/any party may submit a request to mediate to SMC upon which the other party will be bound to participate in the mediation within [45 days] thereof. Unless otherwise agreed by the Parties, the mediator(s) will be appointed by the Singapore Mediation Centre. The mediation will take place in Singapore in the English language and the Parties agree to be bound by any settlement agreement reached.
  20. If such dispute cannot be resolved by way of mediation in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, such dispute shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Singapore administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (“SIAC”) in accordance with the arbitration rules of the SIAC for the time being in force, which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference to this clause. The arbitral tribunal shall consist of one (1) arbitrator whom, unless otherwise agreed by the Parties, shall be appointed by the President of the SIAC. The seat of the arbitration shall be Singapore, and the language of arbitration shall be English.
